About Desert Sol Soapery

Desert Sol Soapery is a woman-owned and operated small business based in Clarkdale, Arizona, near Sedona and its iconic red rocks. I create handcrafted cold process soaps and bath & body products inspired by the landscapes, scents, and colors of Arizona and the American Southwest.

Finding a Home in the Southwest

A lifelong love of the Southwest eventually brought me to Arizona, where I now call the Verde Valley home. Long before moving here, I spent years visiting the region with both my family and later with my husband and children, always drawn to the landscapes, history, and unique character of the Southwest.

The inspiration behind Desert Sol Soapery comes from more than just the scenery. I’m inspired by the people who call this region home, the rich cultural history, and the creativity and individuality that make the Southwest such a special place. From rugged outdoor adventurers to artists, makers, and free spirits, the diversity of the community here continually sparks new ideas for my soaps and collections.

I enjoy creating products that reflect the colors, scents, textures, and stories of the Southwest while bringing a little everyday enjoyment to the people who use them.

The Maker Behind the Soap

Soapmaking entered my life at a time when I was looking for a new creative outlet. Having always been a creator and crafter, I felt like something was missing after moving to Arizona. Around that time, I found myself watching other soapmakers online and became completely fascinated by the process.

What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion. I wanted to understand how soap worked, why certain ingredients performed the way they did, and how scent, color, and design could come together to create something both beautiful and practical. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn.

Today, my favorite part of the process is still creating. I love designing new soaps, developing scent combinations, exploring ingredients, and bringing ideas to life. My goal is simple: to make products that people genuinely enjoy using and look forward to reaching for every day.

Handcrafted in Small Batches

Every product is made in small batches in Clarkdale, Arizona. I personally formulate, make, cut, cure, package, and label each item, allowing me to maintain consistency while still embracing the creativity that comes with handcrafted production.

I focus on thoughtfully selected ingredients, carefully curated scent blends, and distinctive designs that make each product as enjoyable to look at as it is to use. Many of my soaps feature ingredients such as goat milk, kaolin clay, colloidal oats, natural colorants, and carefully selected fragrance or essential oil blends.

When I’m not making soap, I’m usually talking about it. Through my social media channels, I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned, answering questions, and helping others better understand handmade soap and the craft behind it.
